Design starts with a fundemental determination of the customer problem and then a determination of the customer requirements (and wishes).

We are constantly aware that whilst the elctronic control board may be a low cost component within the customers finished product, it can give their product the marketing edge. However it must also be totally reliable. Over the last 20 years plus we have built up a basket of design solutions which are application approved. Often the design solution for one industry is directly transferable to another industry - another market place. This provides a high confidence level for new products.

The latest components do not necessarily provide the most effective solutions - where they do they are incorporated.

Having determined the solution to the problem the design continues with the incorporation of EMC considerations and LVD considerations.

The company owns EMC test equipment and uses this at an early stage in product developement and circuit layout.

The physical design becomes dependent upon customer product consideration - space, enviroment etc - which can determine where to use surface mount, conventional or with most power products a mixture of the two.

Full PCB layout design and mechanical design are carried out in house - as is all software developement. We have good relationships with our suppliers and can usually provide a rapid prototype solution for initial testing in a short space of time.
